PIZARRAS DE OTERO, GOLD MEDAL IN MONO VINO 2017 AWARDS

The year hasn’t even started and we are already bringing you big news! Pizarras de Otero, Bodegas Cuatro Pasos’ young wine, has been awarded with the gold medal in the Mono Vino competition, the only one done in Spain which is exclusively dedicated to single varietal wines.

It is not the first time our Pizarras de Otero is recognised by this jury which has already awarded this mencía’s quality in 2016 and 2014, whose grapes grow on the slate soils of El Bierzo.

The Mono Vino 2017 competition jury was composed of winemakers, sommeliers, wine distributors, importers and sales representatives. All of them experts in wines sensorial analysis and lead by Ernesto Gallud, AEPEV (Spanish Journalists and Wine Writers Association) general secretary.
